How many calories does a pigeon with meat and rice in a tomato sauce have?

Pigeons are one of the most popular offerings for a traditional Polish dinner. The dish consists of a meat-rice mass wrapped in a cabbage leaf and is served with tomato sauce.

1. The nutritional value

100 g of tomato sauce pigeons contain only 111 kcal. It provides all the macronutrients and is therefore a balanced meal. In addition, it provides a high amount of potassium, calcium and magnesium. It also contains B vitamins and fat soluble vitamins: A, E, D. This traditional diet provides about 2 g of dietary fiber. Nutritional value in 100 g: Calorie: 111 Kcal, protein: 4, 6 g, ?? fat: 5, 7 g,?? carbohydrate: 11, 2 g, fiber: 1, 8 g, and micronutrient: 74 g.

2. Potassium

Traditional tomato sauce pumpkin is a source of potassium, which is involved in protein and carbohydrate metabolism and activates certain enzymes in the human body. Additionally, it affects osmotic pressure in cells, as well as water and electrolyte economy. It also plays a significant role in the proper functioning of smooth muscles and blood vessels.

3. A source of fat-soluble vitamins

Pigeons contain large amounts of vitamin E, which is necessary for the proper functioning of the genitals of both men and women. They have also been shown to have anti-cancer effects, reducing the risk of atherosclerosis and coronary artery disease. This vitamin affects the immune system and inhibits the aggregation of blood platelets.

4. The ingredients

In order for pigeons to have even more nutritional value, it is worth making a few changes. White rice can be replaced with whole grain rice and red meat with lean poultry. These modifications will enrich the dish with valuable dietary fiber in addition to the extra portion of vitamins and ingredients. It is also worth making sure that the sauce is not made on the basis of fat cream or butter.

5. A little practice

The most popular version of pigeons are those prepared from pork, white rice and sweet cabbage, served with tomato sauce. However, it should be remembered that they can be made from completely other ingredients. In eastern Poland, the traditional Christmas dish is pigeons from the cassava and mushrooms wrapped in sour cabbage. In addition to the ingredients of the pigeon, they can also vary in form.
