How many calories does a carbonated orange drink have?

When describing these types of beverages, they often show information about their high quality or the content of additional ingredients, such as orange juice.

1. It's got an orange soda in it

Ascorbic acid (E300) is another vitamin C. However, this type of beverage cannot be regarded as a source of this vitamin. It can have different functions as an acidity regulator, preservative, antioxidant, emulsifier, flavor enhancer, buffer or antibacterial agent. 2. The nutritional value

The drink also provides a large amount of energy, but has no nutritional value. A glass (250 ml) of the drink: Energy value: 105 kcal, Protein: 0 g, 0 g fat, 26 g total carbohydrates, including sugars: 26 g. The glass contains up to about 5 tablespoons of this substance. The amount of orange juice is small. The carbonated orange drink contains a very high amount of sugar.

3. Drinking sugary soda and gaining weight

Regular, daily consumption of a glass of a carbonated orange drink can lead to weight gain of 5.2 kg per year. High consumption of carbonated beverages is a source of a significant number of calories, which in the long run can lead into weight gain and associated diseases. According to data from the Central Statistical Office in 2017, about 53% of people over the age of 15 suffer from overweight and obesity.

4. Guar (E412) rubber has health benefits

It has a positive effect on the carbohydrate economy and contributes to the reduction of cholesterol in the blood. However, with such a high sugar content, its properties in sweetened soft drinks are negligible. In the food industry, it is used to thicken the product. In addition, as a natural prebiotic, it stimulates the growth of unhealthy bacteria in the gut.
