How Many Calories Do Nuts Have?

1. That's a lot of energy

The energy value of nuts comes mainly from fat, which accounts for 50% of the nutrients contained in them. A handful of peanuts weigh about 30 g, and the nutritional value of this portion is as follows: energy value: 174 kcal, protein: 7, 7 g, ?? fat: 13, 8 g, including: saturated fatty acids: 1, 8g, monounsaturated fatty acid: 6, 9 g, high-density omega-4: 6, 4 g, 2 g, 5 g, 8 g.

2. It's healthy fat

The fats contained in nuts are mostly composed of monounsaturated fatty acids. These compounds have a beneficial effect on the lipid profile. They reduce the concentration of triglycerides and LDL lipoproteins (the so-called bad cholesterol) and increase HDL lipoprotein concentration. Consequently, they contribute to a decrease in the risk of cardiovascular disease such as asthma, stroke, coronary heart disease.

3. The source of the vitamins

Peanuts are a major source of niacin (vitamin B3) and vitamin E. Because of this, they have a positive effect on skin, hair, nails, and brain function. Along with a handful (about 30 g) of peanuts, we supply the body with: 0.2 mg of vitamin B1, 5 mg of Vitamin B3, 1.

4. The source of the mineral ingredients

Peanuts are a rich source of mineral ingredients such as copper, zinc, phosphorus, iron, potassium, or iodine. In addition, if they are salty, they also provide a significant amount of sodium. A handful of unsalted peanuts contain: 0.3 mg of copper.

5. Nuts have allergic properties

Peanuts are very often the cause of allergies and food intolerance. Not without reason they belong to the so-called "Big Eight allergens".

6. The source of the heavy metals

Nuts accumulate heavy metals, such as cadmium, lead and mercury. They are six times more contaminated than other nuts. They have an average content of 0.035 mg/kg of nuts, the largest amount of which is found in raw materials from China or India. Long-term and regular intake of small amounts with food causes the element to build up mainly in the liver and kidneys. This causes damage to these blood organs.
