1. It's a source of empty calories

Corn flakes are highly processed foods. They are high in calories and low in nutritional value. They contain predominantly carbohydrates. 2. It's a source of sodium

Corn flakes contain a high amount of sodium 1167 mg/100 g of product. A portion of the flakes (30 g) covers the need for sodium by up to 23%.

3. High glycemic index

The term glycemic index describes the rate at which glucose is absorbed from the digestive tract after ingestion of a food. It is determined by comparing the increase in blood glucose levels after consumption of a product containing 50 g of digestible carbohydrates with the consumption of pure glucose. Based on this, products are divided into: products with a low GI index IG < 55, foods with a high GI Index > 55.
