How can you effectively change your eating habits?

Many people think that healthy eating is difficult, expensive, and time-consuming -- we're getting information from all sides about what foods are healthy, what to give up, what times of the day to eat, when to drink water -- can we get lost -- is it really enough to change our eating habits effectively and, above all, permanently?

1. What's a habit?

A habit is an automated activity, a way of behaving or reacting that is developed through repetition. Usually a habit is related to movement, but it can also be thought or cognitive habits.

2. Why it's so hard to change your habits

Changing habits is difficult because it requires commitment and attention. Many people consider lifestyle changes to be another challenge that you have to do 100% without the right to stumble. If you have a lot of responsibilities and new difficulties arise, for example, childhood illness, you run out of psychoenergy resources, or so-called power pulls, which is allotted to you every day.

3. How to start a change in eating habits?

To change your eating habits effectively, a small-step method is essential. It can be: regular physical activity, such as walking a dog, taking stairs instead of an elevator, playing with children, stretching in the evening, exercising in the gym, eating vegetables, e.g. cooking soup, preparing salads for work, adding vegetables to sandwiches, making vegetable cocktails, drinking water, for example.

4. Why you should change your eating habits

Changing habits is difficult, requires commitment and patience, but taking care of your own lifestyle will help you stay healthy. Health conditions: 20% genetic factors, 50% lifestyle composed of diet, physical activity, stress management skills, time spent on rest, use of fluids, 20% environment, 10% health care system performance. Other lifestyle behaviors are influenced by and can be shaped accordingly.
