Green vegetables for the lungs

Eating green vegetables has proven preventive effects against lung disease, it also speeds up the patient's recovery and prevents the formation of cancers, but is it really something to eat to enjoy healthy lungs?

1. Common features of green vegetables

Vegetables and fruits should form the basis of the daily diet. Particularly in the context of supporting cancer treatment, green vegetables are desirable. This group includes, for example, leafy vegetables such as lettuce, spinach, legumes, cabbage, and some strawberry seeds. They are high in nutrients and low in sugars and fats, which makes them low in calories. Thanks to antioxidants such as vitamins C and E, they exhibit anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant effects.

2. Leafy vegetables for the lungs

Among leafy vegetables, one can distinguish between parsley, spinach, various types of salads, leaf cycorium, cassava, onion, garlic, cabbage, rosemary, watermelon. Their nutritional value depends on the time of year, freshness, species. It is worth noting that e.g. dark green outer leaves may contain about 50 times more nutrients than the clear-green leaves of the main cabbage. It should be noted that fresh vegetables show better health effects than those under heat treatment.

3. Vegetables of cabbage

Cabbage vegetables belong to the family of cruciferous vegetables. They include all kinds of cabbage, Brussels sprouts, broccoli, cauliflower, maple syrup. They are a rich source of ingredients that have a beneficial effect on the human body. A special distinction is made for glucosinols. They belong to a family of thioglycosides found in the crucifixes. They have little biological activity, but when they are hydrolysed (under the influence of the enzyme mirozin, which is activated by digestion, digestion and juicing), they have a significant activity. The products of this process are isocyanates.

4. It's the strawberries

Green legumes such as beans, peas, and asparagus beans reduce the levels of so-called bad cholesterol in the blood and, as a result, they help the metabolism process and reduce the risk of obesity. This is a particularly beneficial property for the lungs. This organ is very often squeezed by the obese chest. This makes it difficult to breathe properly, which can even lead to dehydration.

5. Other green vegetables

Both chrysanthemum leaves and oils derived from them have been used in folk medicine for many years to treat various ailments. They exhibit hypotensive, hypolipidic, hypoglycemic, anti-inflammatory, antifungal effects. This plant contributes to inhibiting the production of pro-infectious cytokines. It has a health-promoting effect thanks to the content of bioactive compounds such as flavonoids, carotenoids and sterols.
