Cold-pressed oils properties and uses

Not all fats have the same nutritional value, so it's worth knowing their healthy sources. Why should they be a regular part of our diet? However, we should remember that fat has many important functions in the body and is an essential component of our daily diet, although it should not provide more than 30% of the energy from the diet. Cold-pressed oils are unprocessed products with high nutritive and beneficial properties due to the properties of oily plants. We hear a lot about reducing fat in the diet because it is widely believed to be the cause of obesity and other dietary diseases.

1. Why is fat important?

It is particularly important in the diet of infants and young children because it promotes the development of the brain, nervous system and visual organs. However, the effect of fat on health depends not only on its dietary content but also on the source of the fat. A valuable and healthy source of fat are cold pressed oils. One of these is cold pressing is a mechanical method that does not use heat treatment. It is the oldest and most natural method. But cold pressure, unlike normal consumption, has a significant effect on the degradation of nutrients.

2. Valuable health benefits

The NNKT includes polyunsaturated acids, among which we distinguish two main groups: omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids. Fatty oils often provide a wide range of beneficial bioactive substances, including blood pressure regulation. Additionally, these acids affect the proper functioning of the visual organs. The normal diet has less omega-3 fatty acid and the content of omega-6 is increased (e.g. in meat, eggs, and protein). Fats from cold-pressed oils are also beneficial for regulating blood pressure, particularly fats, carotenolic acid and tocophenic acid.

3. Popular oils and their properties

The oils may be produced from seeds, sprouts, nuts or fruit and each has a different flavour and aroma.

4. It's oil from the cherry blossom

It contains a valuable gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) that protects the circulatory system. It is also an ingredient in many facial, body, and hair care products. Due to its mild flavor, it is widely used in cooking. The consumption of wax oil is also beneficial in the course of atopic dermatitis. However, wax may increase the risk of bleeding, so it should not be used before surgery and in combination with medicines that affect blood clotting.
