Civilized diseases causes and prevention

Stress, low physical activity, and the rapid pace of life are just some of the causes of civilization diseases. Civilization diseases are global noncommunicable diseases called the epidemic of the 21st century. Changing certain habits and making some lifestyle modifications can keep them from developing.

1. Civilized diseases definition

They pose a huge problem and challenge to medicine. It is estimated that it is civilization diseases that are responsible for over 80% of premature deaths (A. Civilization diseases, also called social diseases or lifestyle diseases, are non-communicable diseases that spread rapidly. In most cases their occurrence is associated with long-term treatment, can lead to disability, as well as death.

2. Civilized diseases are the cause

Excessive stress, improper nutrition, low physical activity are just some of the aspects associated with the fast pace of life. The direct effects include: low physical activities, improper diet (eating high-processed foods high in salt, sugar and saturated fats), smoking tobacco, ?? alcohol abuse, over-stress. The etiology of civilization diseases is closely linked to the rapid progress of civilisation.

3. The most common diseases of civilization

According to data collected in 2015-2018 from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, if the world situation does not change, the prevalence of these diseases among people over the age of 20 will be around 49.2% by 2030 (S.S. In 2019, there were up to 6.6 million deaths worldwide from cerebrovascular diseases. According to the National Test of Health report, up to 45% of Poles are obese. If the world does not improve, by 2030 the number of people with obesity will be about 49.2% (SS.M. Adair, S.W. Among other metabolic disorders, the highest number of deaths from diabetes mellitus and other diseases can be counted among those with the highest incidence of heart disease is reported in 2019.

4. Prevention of the diseases of civilization

All forms of health promotion should be undertaken from an early age, because that is when attitudes and beliefs are most dynamically formed. A very important element of civilization disease prevention is health education. In order to reduce the risk of developing civilization diseases, it is important to pay attention to your lifestyle. It can contribute to improving health, reducing mortality, and raising public awareness.

5. The right way to eat

Both shortages and excesses can significantly disrupt its functioning. Milk and dairy products such as yogurt, kefir or cereals are a source of many vitamins, minerals and dietary fiber which affect the proper functioning of the digestive tract. It is recommended to include in the diet whole grain products, e.g. oatmeal, brown rice, coarse rice and baking cereals. Dairy products like yogurt and kefir and cereals should also be a dietary component. A deficiency of these vitamins can increase the risk of obesity.

6. Elimination of use

Smoking is the most common cause of lung cancer. The problem of alcohol abuse affected over 2.5 million Poles in 2018. In order to reduce the risk of their development, it is recommended to eliminate them completely. According to research carried out in Poland in 2019, up to 1⁄4 of Polish adults smoke cigarettes. Smoking or alcohol abuse are one of the causes of civilization diseases.

7. It's moving

In the case of disease units or disorders that restrict extra movement, activity should be undertaken in a manner that does not adversely affect health. Any form of movement, such as walking, running or swimming, will have a positive effect on health. Inclusion of physical activity reduces the likelihood of many diseases, including obesity, hypertension or type 2 diabetes.

8. In addition to this, it is also possible to use the information provided by the competent authority

Blood pressure measurement, laboratory blood and urine tests, body weight checks, ultrasound tests should be performed regularly. Early detection of abnormalities, treatment and lifestyle modifications can prolong a patient's life.
