Candidacy causes, symptoms, therapy, an antifungal diet

This disease is caused by Candida yeasts, which occur naturally in the human body. Candida is one of the most common fungal diseases that affects people around the world. The problem occurs when they are overexploited and thereby disturb the microbial balance. Although it is mild in many cases and does not pose a threat to life, it can cause significant discomfort and complications, especially in people with weakened immune systems.

To confirm a diagnosis, microbiological examinations (growth of microbes) are most often performed, which allow the fungus to be accurately identified and assessed for its sensitivity to drugs. In some situations, imaging tests are also necessary, especially when an internal organ infection is suspected (S.P. Diagnosis of candidiasis starts with a detailed medical interview, during which the doctor analyses the symptoms and risk factors, including chronic diseases, drug use or antibiotic use. In more severe cases, such as general systemic therapy, the doctor may order a blood test.

For more advanced forms, such as general systemic candidiasis, treatment requires the use of antifungal medicines orally or intravenously. At the same time, it is important to eliminate factors that promote the development of infection, including weakened immune systems or chronic diseases. Taudorf et al. 2019). For mild forms, antifungals in the form of creams, ointments or fluids containing active substances, especially fluconazole, clotrimazole or myconezole, are most commonly used.

3. Antifungal diet basic rules

The main premise of the diet is the elimination of yeast-stimulating ingredients while introducing products that promote microbiological balance and reduce inflammation. While its direct effect on inhibiting the development of fungi has not been unambiguously confirmed, an appropriately composed diet can support the gut microbiota, strengthen the immune system and promote the regeneration of the body. Antifungal diets play a key role in supporting the treatment of fungus.

4. Limiting simple sugars and processed foods

Candida yeasts use simple carbohydrates as their main energy source and therefore it is necessary to eliminate products such as: sweets, cakes and confectionery, soft drinks, juices and syrups, ?? ready-made instant, fast food and high-processed foods (S. Otašević et al., 2018).

5. Reducing carbohydrate-rich fruits is simple

In turn, the consumption of fruits high in fructose, such as grapes, bananas, mangoes and pineapples should be limited (S. Fruits are a rich source of vitamins, minerals and fiber, but their excess, especially those rich in simple carbohydrates, can promote the development of infections. Otašević et al. 2018).

6. Increased intake of dietary fiber

Its best sources in the diet are: whole grain cereals (e.g. cashews, brown rice, baked grains), vegetables and fruits, pulp plant seeds, ?? fruits, berries and seeds (S. Blonic plays a key role in maintaining gut microbiological balance. Jawhara 2023) It is a nutrient for beneficial gut bacteria, supports fermentation processes, and contributes to the production of short-chain acids (SCFA), which have anti-inflammatory effects.

7. Unsaturated fatty acids as an anti-fungal support

In particular, it is recommended that: olive oil, flaxseed oil, fatty seafood (e.g. salmon, mackerel, sardines), nuts (eg Italian, lasagna) and seeds (eg pumpkin, sunflower) (S. Some fats not only exhibit natural antifungal properties but also promote the regeneration of the intestinal mucosa.

8. The consumption of fermented products

The elimination of processed products and the introduction of natural nutrients such as fiber, healthy fats and probiotics improve the functioning of the digestive system, strengthen immunity and reduce inflammation. It is therefore worthwhile to include fermented dairy products (natural yogurt, kefir, butter), oxygen, sour cream, and fermented beverages such as Combucha (S. Antifungal Diet not only supports the treatment of candidiasis but also contributes to improving overall health). Fermented products provide vaccines for probiotic bacteria from the bacterial families Labacillus and Bibacillus barifida, which support the growth and metabolism of food.
