Can a diet help you fight cellulite?

Is there an anti-cellulite diet? Low motor activity, inadequate fluid intake, and improper diet are just some of the causes. A very large number of women struggle with cellulite, but it can also affect men.

1. What kind of cellulite?

Cellulite can be divided into aqueous and fatty, depending on the degree of progression of changes in skin structure.

It can often be confused with muscle tissue. Initially, it can be seen in the lower parts of the body, such as the buttocks and knees.

3. Fatty cellulite, otherwise soft

It is characterized by uneven skin structure and changes in its deeper layers. It is mainly located on the buttocks and thighs.

4. Limit your salt intake

Excessive amounts lead to water retention, which in turn leads to swelling. Removing salt, replacing salt with fresh herbs and spices would be a good solution. Now adding salt to products is very common, it can be found primarily in pastries, baked goods, cheeses, and canned goods. Salt, and more specifically sodium, has a significant effect on the development of an edema. One of the ways to reduce salt intake is by not putting food on a plate.

5. Limit your intake of simple sugars

The main sources of simple sugars in the diet are candies, cakes, chocolates, sweets and colored drinks. Excessive intake of pure sugars leads to the accumulation of adipose tissue. Their reduction or total elimination will have a beneficial effect on maintaining normal body weight. This in turn increases the risk of cellulite or its exacerbation.

6. Limit your intake of saturated fat

Increased intake of these products will cause an increase in body weight, allowing the proper structure of the skin to be maintained and preventing the exacerbation of the process of lipodystrophy. Their main food sources are fatty meats, creams, starches, cheeses and sweets. It is recommended to choose lean meats (chicken and turkey), limit the supply of animal fats and sweeteners. Saturated fatty acids not only adversely affect the work of the cardiovascular system, but can also lead to increased fat tissue.

7. Quit using it

This results in water retention, resulting in an irregular structure of the skin. High-percentage drinks can disrupt the functioning of the body's water economy. It's worth giving up alcohol and cigarettes, including those with cellulite.

8. Drink two and a half gallons of water

Instead of sweet and colourful beverages, water, preferably medium or high-mineralized, should be used. Both in the prevention of cellulite and in combating this problem, proper hydration is important. Proper hydration reduces swelling and improves the functioning of the circulatory system. It is recommended that fluid intake in women is 2 litres and in men 2.5 litres.

9. Be physically active

It can be walking, nordic walking, running, swimming, or strength training. Combining a healthy, balanced diet with physical activity greatly reduces the likelihood of cellulite and helps to combat it. For people who have never been physically active before, it's good to start exercising gradually to prevent overload.

10. Remember the regeneration

Appropriate sleep and reduced exposure to stressors significantly support the prevention of lipodystrophy. Long periods of sitting and standing should be avoided. Rest and regeneration reduce the risk of cellulite and help get rid of it.
