1. What is bee pollen?
Bee pollen is the second, after honey, the most well-known product derived from the hard work of these insects. The substrate for its production are the male reproductive cells of the flowers, which are commonly referred to as flower pollen. Collector bees, as the name suggests, are responsible for collecting it and then forming characteristic balls containing close to 100 thousand pollen grains. In this form, the pollen undergoes special preservation, which means that it is mixed with a number of ingredients, such as honey or some herbaceous plants, for example, which can be called a wildflower or a monkey.2. It's the composition
It is difficult to specify exactly the biological and chemical content of the pollen, since it contains about 300 different compounds. However, the first is an impressive amount and free amino acids. In the latter case, they account for nearly 12% of the total composition of pollen. Among them, such compounds as arginine, glycine, histamine, isoleine, leyna, methionine or valine. It is now assumed that pollen also contains 32 different substances. In addition, pollen contains the remaining fatty acids of carboxylic acid and fatty acid.3. Properties and use
The abundance of nutrients determines the widespread use of bee pollen in medicine. First of all, it is worth noting the numerous nutritional benefits that make it possible to supplement the daily diet. Bee pollen is successfully used as an appetite enhancer and metabolism controller. This, on the other hand, allows for an additional boost in cholesterol resistance and condition of the whole body, especially in people with weakened regenerative mechanisms, elderly people and physically active people.4. Supplementation and contraindications
Whether the powder we have purchased is supplements (usually available as capsules) or naturally collected pellets, it is completely safe to use. Adults taking pollen bees for prophylactic and health purposes should take a daily dose of 20 to even 40 g. In severe conditions, this dose can be increased without the slightest risk to our health. The pollen should be taken up to 30 minutes before a planned meal.
