Astaxanthin is a natural dye with valuable properties

It has a wide range of effects and is therefore considered a valuable raw material with health benefits, one of which is that it gives some plants and animals the red color of astaxanthin.

2. It's a natural source of astaxanthin

It is also produced by the algae Chlorella zofingensis, which accumulate dye even in the absence of lighting. Although the production efficiency of mushrooms is lower than that of algae, they are a valuable raw material due to the lower cost of cultivation. Some animals, despite their lack of the ability to synthesize themselves, can accumulate astaxanthin by food, and the accumulation of pigment in various organs (mainly in the muscles) gives them a red color. 3. The main mechanisms of action
