A treadmill or a field?

Unfortunately, the treadmill only seems to be the perfect machine designed for people's needs, apparently for their comfort. How many professional runners actually use a mechanical treader? It actually has nothing to do with running in a park or in the woods, and it's not just a lack of beautiful scenery or fresh air, but also a running technique that's diametrically different. Almost none.

Table of Contents

1. It's a mechanical runway

Of course, the very idea of how it came about and the idea itself was very good, but when you run a treadmill, you don't develop the double-headed thigh muscle because the leg moves along with the treadmills. The treads are an electrically powered device designed for running training. So we wanted to make running an activity that can be done indoors, so that it could be the perfect warm-up, because we know that running is one of the best muscle-warming exercises, so we need to take care of it in addition to the other equipment available in the gym.

2. It's easy to get injured on a treadmill

So basically, we're very focused on the steps, instead of relaxing while running, forgetting about the whole world. Running on a treadmill can lead to injury, because we give in to the same, automatic movement, which is very one-way. It's easy to get injured that way. We're focused so that we don't fall off the roll, or forget, or lose a step, and we have to constantly control the length of the steps we take.

3. A less tiring run?

In the gym, there's one-way humidity, air conditioning, no air resistance, which when you run in a natural environment becomes your opponent and makes it difficult to run. Running on a treadmill means you burn fewer calories (at least 200). We only build up some of them, and others stay at rest. This is because of the more favorable conditions in the gym. So we can run basically without effort, but with less efficiency.

4. Running outside is much more enjoyable

On a hard floor, it's easy to injure the tendons, and it can even lead to injury. This makes us not sweat like on a treadmill, so we don't need to drink liquids. A big advantage of running outdoors is the constant change of scenery. Running outdoor is monotonous and even boring. Of course, you have to remember that running on soft floors and paths is better than running on a sidewalk or an asphalt. When you're on a fresh track, your body is constantly cooled by the wind. It will be necessary to constantly replenish them while running mechanically to avoid body heat, which can even result in exhaustion.

5. Running on a treadmill is safer for joints?

Shoe manufacturers are equipped with the latest technology, shock absorbers, which are designed to minimize injuries to the joints, primarily the knee, when running in rough weather. We also need the right footwear for running. The joints get used to the soft footwear, and running on the hard footwear can almost instantly lead to an injury. It's also worth mentioning that when we're running in the harsh weather, we train our spirits, which is excellent for preventing viral diseases, colds, or even allergies. Of course, we need to remember that in one case and in the other, we have a role to play in controlling the effects of running outside the proper footwear.
